Creating Our Home
BALAY/BAHAY: Creating Our Home is an exhibition examining the meaning of home, featuring work by nine emerging Filipinix-American artists. Through investigations of belonging, memory, identity & contemporary issues, these artists share their diverse interpretations of home and the multi-layered diversity of Philippine culture & experiences as FilipinXs in the US diaspora.
The November 1st show will include an interactive public altar. We encourage you to bring an offering to your ancestors for ‘Araw ng mga Patay,’ or Day of the Dead. The exhibition’s artists will be participating in a call to the ancestors, including an opening ceremony by Eagle Rock native Filipina musician, Gingee.
